Australia’s Great Ocean Road, Australia

The ocean road to the 12 Apostles is breath-taking in splendour with its dramatic, rugged cliffs carved from the Tasman Sea and its panoramic views across the rich and azure waters. Victoria’s most famous rock formations are Australia’s third most popular tourist destination – after Uluru and The Great Barrier Reef. They call the rocky stacks the 12 apostles because they stand tall and proud along the shore. I was glad to visit when I did: despite the the 12 apostles, there are only 7 left standing as Mother Nature, time and the salty waters have caused several of the apostles to fall.
