Charlottetown, PEI – The Charlottetown Airport Authority (CAA) is pleased to announce a new partnership with Air Transat that will offer direct flights from Charlottetown to Cancun, Mexico, starting in February 2026. This exciting new route will provide Islanders with convenient access to one of the world’s most popular vacation destinations.
“We are thrilled to partner with Air Transat to bring this new travel option to Prince Edward Islanders,” said Doug Newson, CEO of the Charlottetown Airport Authority. “Cancun has been a highly requested destination, and we are confident that this direct service will be a great success. This new route is a testament to the growth of our airport and the increasing demand for non-stop travel to and from Prince Edward Island.”
“The addition of Charlottetown to our winter flight program demonstrates our commitment to expanding our network in the Canadian market,” said Sebastian Ponce, Transat’s Chief Revenue Officer. “Thanks to optimized operations, we are strengthening our leadership position in Cancún, while increasing our brand presence in Eastern Canada.”
Air Transat, a leading travel brand, will operate weekly Wednesday flights between YYG Charlottetown Airport and Cancun International Airport (CUN). The seasonal service will run from February 18th to April 22nd, catering to winter travel demand. The service will be operated with the 198-seat Airbus A321-200 (A321 ceo) aircraft.
