Charlottetown, PEI – The Charlottetown Airport Authority (CAA) is pleased to welcome Porter Airlines’ announcement of new daily non‑stop service between Charlottetown (YYG) and Montreal Metropolitan Airport (YHU), beginning June 18, 2026.
The new route will connect Prince Edward Island with Porter’s newly opened, modern terminal at Montreal Metropolitan Airport, providing travellers with convenient access to the Greater Montreal area and Porter’s network.
“This is an exciting and important addition to air service at Charlottetown,” said Doug Newson, Chief Executive Officer of the Charlottetown Airport Authority. “Daily service to Porter’s new Montreal Metropolitan Airport gives Islanders and visitors more choice, more flexibility, and a new gateway into the Montreal region. It strengthens our connectivity and supports both business and leisure travel to and from Prince Edward Island.”
“We are very pleased to see this new daily link between Charlottetown and Montreal Metropolitan Airport. This route improves travel opportunities for Islanders, makes visiting easier, and offers another way for people to connect with our Island. This added air access helps drive growth in our tourism sector and supports businesses right across Prince Edward Island.”
Ernie Hudson, Minister of Fisheries, Rural Development and Tourism
“Passengers travelling through Montreal Metropolitan Airport (MET) will have convenient access to the Greater Montreal area, including easy access to downtown. The modern terminal provides an efficient and welcoming passenger experience that will save travellers substantial time. It raises the bar for travel in Canada.”
“Porter is the only airline serving both Montreal airports with extensive flight schedules, offering passengers more choice and flexibility on a number of routes and destinations. Prince Edward Island travellers will have the opportunity to use the new Montreal Metropolitan Airport (MET) and Montreal Trudeau Airport. Visitors to Montreal can enjoy its rich history and culture, including a variety of festivals, art shows, and a world-renowned culinary scene.”
